My first craft book purchase for the New Year is French Country Chic by Lise Meunier.
I picked this book up in The Works in Belfast on our last visit for just £3.oo, it is also available online here.
Primarily, I was attracted to the book because of the images as I am looking for decorating inspiration for my studio, and I think this particular style will suit it perfectly.
The projects in the book are very simple, but I like that, particularly when there are so many sections of my studio that requires built-in units.
Three items I will definitely be including are the plant pot covers above, but they will more that than likely end up being notions holders.
I’ve always liked the idea of up-cycling glass jars and I do quite like these particular ones.
Finally, I have a collection of vintage linens and lace which will work lovely as small armchair covers, and the heart shaped cushion is very cute. Over all I would recommend the book as an inspiration jumping off point, the images are well composed and offer layers of ideas that can be easily translated.
