Mr Chatty Sewing Pattern
Print the pattern on an A4 sheet at 100%
Tools:
- Fabric & paper scissors
- Hand sewing needle
- Fabric marker (any colours you like)
- Pins
- Sewing machine
How to make:
Cut out the paper pattern and pin to the material, Mr Chatty to the red and the speech bubbles to the white. Cut out in the amounts specified on the pattern. Cut out the felt pattern pieces. Using the fabric marker write the words you want on the speech bubbles on one side only. I used, Hi, Hola (Spanish for Hi) and Salut (French for Hi). (Follow the manufacture’s instructions for using the fabric markers) Using one strand of the embroidery thread (white for the white felt and navy for the navy felt) whip stitch appliqué each of the pieces on to one side of Mr Chatty’s body. (Click here for a tutorial on how to work the whip stitch appliqué ) Place Mr Chatty’s body material right side to right side and pin. Machine sew around the entire body leaving the space marked unsewn for turning right side out. Place the speech bubble materials right side to right side, writing facing in, and pin together. Machine sew around each of the speech bubbles leaving the space marked unsewn for turning. Snip into each of the corners of Mr Chatty and the speech bubbles to allow for ease of turning. Turn each of the pieces right side out and stuff with the craft filler. Ladder stitch each of the open sections closed. (Click here for the ladder stitch tutorial)
