Now spring has arrived, my thoughts turn to hopefully warm summers and definitely longer days. At this time of the year I start on our garden, even if the showery days make summer seem very far away. One of my favourite books I love to look up for cute craft projects is Tone Finnanger’s Sew Sunny Homestyle.
The book is jam packed with ideas from really sweet softies to beach bags, slippers to bird house sewing kits, and lots in-between, 46 projects in total, with all of the patterns available on the back pages.
Some of the projects I have earmarked to make this year are the clothes hanger cover, an excellent tip in the book is to lengthen the pattern and add pockets to create storage for accessories. I think it is so cute I would use it as a decorative hanger for storing items on my studio door.
The second project on my to do list are these pretty espadrilles, once the weather warms up here, I will get loads of wear from these in my studio.
And, finally, but by no means the only item left on my to do list is this charming soap cake. The soap cake would make a great pressie, cut up into slices and wrapped. I can’t think of a sweeter yet practical gift.
