Cut out the pattern and then pin to the felt to cut out all of the pieces.
Starting with the large circle fold it in half and then half again to locate the centre point of the circle.
Place the 3 sections of the flower over the centre point and pin in place.
Blanket stitch through the 4 layers around the circle in the centre of the flower.
Line up the bottom of the cupcake centre with the smaller circle, feeding the felt around the circle, top sew the two pieces together. Once you have gotten all the way around the sides of the felt should line up. Continue the top sewing joining the two sides together.
Turn the cup shape right side out. Fill with wadding.
Along the edge of the large circle sew a running stitch pulling it gently as you sew. Pull the whole circle together so as it resembles a shower cap, leaving just enough room to fit two fingers into, secure the thread.
Through the small space stuff the top of the pincushion, very gently as you do not want to snap the running stitch that is holding the shape.
The top will use a lot of wadding.
Using the backstitch, sew the base to the top of the cupcake pincushion.
The pincushion can be used as it is. It is not necessary to put it into the cup.
Using a glue gun to secure the pincushion into the cup, and then the base of the cup to the saucer.
Your pincushion is now ready to use.
