I just recently picked up a copy of Crafty Dolls by Jane Bull in The Works Bookshop, Belfast and was immediately taken with all of the dolls designs she has created.

Crafty dolls by Jane Bull

Each of the patterns have straight forward instructions, easy to follow pictures that take you through each step whether your preferred method of doll making is knitting or sewing.

This is a perfect book for junior crafters with oodles of projects to complete. At the back of the book there is a detailed ‘Know How’ section covering all of your possible questions.

As my least preferred way to make a doll would have to be by knitting, I decide to give one of the wooly ones a try. The pattern was so simple to follow and knitted up very quickly, with endless options for customising the design, maybe even make a doll to look like yourself.
